- Aids climate control inside
Modular - lightweight - fast installation with minimal
disruption
There are 2 main types or a hybrid of the two:

Extensive roofs
The extensive green roof system is available
as either pre-grown or planted in place using plugs
or sedum mats. These interlocking green roof panels
make for a greatly simplified AND fast installation
process as almost all the vital green roof layers have
been pre-assembled into one component. Its lightweight
construction and ease and speed of installation make
it a perfect choice for clients looking for maximum
benefits and a lightweight system. Perfect for slopes
up to 25%, retrofits, flat roof applications or those
projects requiring a lower weight load. The Sedum mixture
we use is planted specifically to suit your hardiness
zone and provides different bloom times and a variety
of vegetation textures and colours. Should access be
required to the roof below - the panels can simply be
un-clipped and removed whole and then replaced with
planting undamaged.
Interlocking green roof tile
Its lightweight construction and
ease of installation make it a perfect choice
for clients looking for maximum benefits without
all the trouble of a conventional installation.
Water
management is one of the most innovative features of
the roof panels. Unlike mesh-type drainage layers which
do not hold rain or irrigation water and can dry the
soil from below, our water retention and drainage carrier
holds the precious water where the plant roots can easily
access it without allowing excessive drying to occur.
The bio-blanket acts as a filter fabric, water retention
and wicking matt, also providing additional rooting
area. This all-in-one approach results in a panel that,
when pre-grown, can be picked up and handled like pieces
of sod. All of the dimples in both the bio-blanket and
carrier greatly reduce soil erosion by wind and water.
Pre-growing the plants reduces this erosion risk even
further.

Intensive roofs

The intensive green roof system is our most luxurious
green roof option. If your roof can support the additional
load that an intensive green roof you can grow everything
from small trees and shrubs to vegetables and herbs.
The extensive roofing panels can be simply planted in
place on top of mounded additional substrate and planting
medium.
Many other details are possible with this system including
paving stones, retaining walls, even water features
to create your urban oasis. Whatever your goals for
your roof may be, we will provide a custom low-maintenance
solution that will ensure years of trouble-free enjoyment.
Hybrid
The hybrid (semi-intensive) green roof system is the
best of both worlds for many accessible roof areas.
You can have the lightweight, pre-grown roof panels
in weight sensitive areas as well as point loading deeper
depth planting areas and other custom features in areas
with additional structural support. The design possibilities
are nearly limitless with the hybrid (semi-intensive)
green roof.

This cutting edge concept has it all:
- Beauty
- Environmental
- Practicality
- Psychological benefits
- Marketing benefits
Behind the creation of these infinitely variable
designs is a modular living wall panel that
is pre-grown for both residential and commercial
applications. It provides rugged construction
and ease of installation. Made from HDPE polyethylene
for its recycleability and long life, it is
one of the few plastics that can be recycled
back into itself fully. The black colour also
means that the plastic will be more UV stable
without as many chemical additives. This plastic
is also very resistant to chemicals found in
fertilizers ensuring a very long product life
span. It has 2 depths enabling a variety of
planting.

Benefits of Living Walls:
Air Quality Improvement
Gaseous pollutants are absorbed through photosynthesis
and airborne particulate matter is trapped in the leaves.
Gas exchange by the plants helps to
add oxygen to the air.
Rooftop microclimate is produced with
cooler due to transpiration of the plants therefore
reducing the cost of the air transfer hot to cool in
air conditioning = less expensive air conditioning.
Less air conditioning means less electricity consumption
which means less power generation from nuclear and fossil
fuel burning plants which improves air quality further
Living walls cool the ambient air temperature
(reduce the Urban Heat Island Effect) in cities.
Studies have shown that 150 sq m of
plant surface area produces enough oxygen for one person
for 24 hours.
Cleaner air is a direct benefit to
asthma sufferers the elderly and young who are limited
to indoor activities on "Bad Air" days
Temperature Regulation
More...
Living Walls help address the Urban Heat Island Effect
which is the phenomenon of thermal gradient differences
between developed and undeveloped areas.
Most of the sun's energy is re-radiated
as heat. Planted areas only reflect 20% of the sun's
energy.
Living walls insulate buildings by
external shading, cool industrial buildings and create
microclimates, which can alter the climate of a city
as a whole.
Reduction of storm water run off
More...
Living walls can be used as part of a stormwater retention
system to help slow the flow off the roof during a storm
event. Moderation of water temperatures and natural
water filters.
Currently we have between 80-100 %
drainage in most cities
In a Natural Cycle 30% of the water is used by plants,
30% percolates to aquifers, 40% returned to the atmosphere
therefore No surface runoff
In a Metropolitan/Urban Cycle 5% to
goes to aquifers, 15% to the atmosphere and 75% to surface
runoff
Major 50mm rainstorm generates about
1.25 gallons per square foot of rainwater.
The City of Portland, Oregon is a leader
in developing and implementing green roof policies focusing
on controlling stormwater runoff.

Improvement of building performance
More...
German studies show that plant material growing on a
roof and walls can help a building retain up to 50%
of the heat typically lost to convection.
Living Walls have the capacity to provide Sound insulation.
Additional visual amenity space.
Additional thermal insulation.

Possibilities for habitat preservation
and protection of flora and fauna.
Replaces land taken by buildings and thereby contributes
to preserving biological diversity.
Beautifies otherwise barren eyesores of our cityscape
and provide unique opportunities for design and
creativity.
Increased urban habitat for song birds and butterflies.
Health and horticultural therapy applications.
Movement, colour, sound and texture of plants
add to the overall health and well being of citizens.
The community overall will also benefit from the
environmental improvements mentioned above.
